Dr. Hisham Ababneh
Dr. Hisham is currently the managing partner of
Ababneh Law and Arbitration (ALA). Before Joining
ALA Hisham worked for over 10 years in international
law firms (Dentons and Eversheds Sutherland) and
has acquired vast and extensive experience in the
corporate, commercial, regulatory, and arbitration
legal work.
Hisham has served as an external expert to the
Minister of Industry and Trade to advice on
amendment of the Jordanian Companies Law in
relation to Investment Funds, and has also taught
commercial law, corporate Law, and international
arbitration courses at the University of Petra in
Jordan. Hisham is well experienced in complex legal
matters of commercial and corporate nature and is
frequently consulted by various international
organizations such as the World Bank and
International Monetary Fund on such topics in relation
to Jordanian Law. He is currently appointed as an Of Counsel at Dentons for specific matters of high
complexity and confidentiality. Hisham is also a
member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators
(CIArb) and listed as an accredited arbitrator in
several international arbitration centers roasters
Hisham’s work involves advising multinational clients
on various corporate and commercial law issues in
Jordan and the Middle East region. He has extensive
expertise in relation to matters involving
establishment and setting-up, mergers and
acquisitions, corporate structure and re-structure,
winding-up and liquidation, among other corporate
related matters. Hisham is also an expert on foreign
direct investment establishment and protection in
Jordan and the MENA region. In this vain, he has
advised and acted as council for several
multinational corporations in regards advising the
latter on the national and international regulatory
frameworks governing and protecting their
investments. He has also represented several major
foreign investors at Jordanian courts and
arbitrations, in addition to representing the same
before various ministries and official bodies. Hisham’s
experience expands to drafting and reviewing
various agreements and contracts, such as
investor-state contracts, shareholders agreements,
distributorship agreements, agency agreements,
construction agreements, employment contracts,
joint venture agreements, real estate management
contracts, intellectual property licensing, among
others.
